More than 500 students from across the county participated in the Middle School County Spelling Bee held at our school this year. This longstanding tradition, which encourages and rewards our young people’s love of learning, tests spelling abilities in a written spelling test. The top 40 scorers then move on to the verbal round where only one champion is left standing.
The 2017 Lima County Spelling Bee champion is Alejandro Murillo, an 8th grader from Sequoia Lake Schools. He can currently be found studying each afternoon in the library, as Alejandro will go on to represent us at the state level in September. Good luck, Alejandro, we’re proud of you!
